Weatherization Innovation

Home wraps and weather-resistant barriers are hot topics for builders striving for maximum efficiency and performance. The DuPont Tyvek product line, readily available through Truitt & White, directly addresses concerns about effective weatherization and tight building envelopes.

DrainWrap

Today Builders are trying to create a building envelope that is both “tight” and “breathable,” and DuPont Tyvek DrainWrap helps achieve that balance. DrainWrap’s breathable surface, which is lined with vertical draining grooves, allows moisture to pass through and drain away while maintaining a durable and protective seal over wall systems.

“DrainWrap takes care of two job at once,” said Truitt & White installation specialist Joel Trestrail. “It protects against further moisture while effectively letting out the moisture that accrues behind wall cavities. To put it simply, it breathes well.”

Dupont Tyvek DrainWrap maintains its durability even after repeated wet/dry cycles, providing a lasting defense against mold and mildew, and effective drainage behind claddings like primed wood, fiber cement siding, and foam board applied over flat substrates. Truitt & White’s complete stock of DrainWrap is lightweight, easily installed, and carries a 10-year limited warranty.

RoofLiner

DuPont Tyvek RoofLiner with Elvaloy is another great tool for optimized weatherization. With 10 squares in every roll and a new premium quality underlayment, RoofLiner provides both greater coverage than roofing felt and enhanced protection against leaks.

“One roll of DuPont RoofLiner covers about the same area as five rolls of 30-lb felt,” said Tyvek product specialist Marc Silveira. “As a result there are fewer overlaps, seams, and fasteners, and ultimately a reduction in labor costs and waste.”

  • Effectively protects against roof leaks
