“The iLevel Shear Brace is fully compliant with the 2006 IBC/IRC building codes.” said Steve Spackman, Structural Frame Specialist with Weyerhaeuser. “That alone separates it from the competition. But it can also be field trimmed to custom heights, which leads to quicker installs and faster cycle times for builders.”
On-Site Flexibility
The flexibility of field trimming is a great advantage to building professionals, who may otherwise be forced to wait weeks for custom-height walls. Being able to quickly adapt trim heights on the job, along with taking advantage of the iLevel’s multi-story applications, directly benefits Bay Area builders working on hillside locations and other graded sites. Trades are further accommodated with convenient drill zones and a simple two-bolt installation system, but nothing is sacrificed in terms of quality.
“The iLevel Shear Brace resists high allowable loads at narrow widths,” said Spackman. “The design values are comparable to steel walls, but with a greater advantage in terms of cost and time savings.”
The iLevel Shear Brace, now available in 12” and 18” widths (24” coming in December 08), can be special ordered through Truitt & White.
