With the support of Alameda County Waste Management Authority (ACWMA) and Bay Area Build It Green, the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of NARI completed two very successful Green Building Professional trainings during the first quarter of 2004. The first was held in Marin this past February and the second just wrapped up in Berkeley on April 3rd. The next series of classes is scheduled for May 6th in San Jose.
There are now over 120 certified green building professionals in the greater Bay Area.
Many of the graduates from the various classes have elected to continue their green building education by attending the monthly meetings of the Green Remodelers Guild. The Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Truitt and White Conference Room. Meeting topics and other Guild information will be available on the Bay Area Build It Green website, www.build-green.org, later in April. The list of certified professionals will also be posted on the Build It Green website and can currently be found on both SFBA NARI and ACWMA websites.
