Helping Katrina Victims
Last month Truitt & White partnered with Rebuilding Together and Evergreen Baptist Church to remodel a home in Oakland to house a family displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
The home, donated by Evergreen Baptist Church, will be given to a Gulf Coast family who will live rent- and utility-free.
For the renovation, Truitt & White donated both building materials and expertise.
“We walked through with Rebuilding Together and did an analysis of what needed to be done to the home,” says Truitt & White’s Dick Dameron. “Some of the jobs identified and completed included painting the interior and exterior, rebuilding the rear porch, and other small neglected areas in need of repair like electrical and plumbing.”
We’d like to thank all those who volunteered their time and building know-how to renovate the home.
Truitt & White Hosts AIA Group
As part of our commitment to the building and design communities, we recently hosted a monthly meeting of the East Bay Chapter of AIA Small Firms. The group, consisting of small design and architectural firms, meets once a month to discuss what’s going on in the industry.
The theme for the recent meeting was “Nifty New Products.” With over 20 design professionals in the audience, Truitt & White displayed and discussed some of our more popular and durable products and materials such as siding, moulding and flashing. There was also a question and answer session where architects ramped up on the latest in options, applications, selection and suitability of various materials.
