Our annual summer tool sale, held in our yard on August 4, was a big hit with local builders, attracting over 2,000 people. Held for more than 20 years and counting, the sale featured electric, cordless and pneumatic tools. Customers enjoyed the traditional barbecue lunch while talking to tool manufacturer reps who where there on hand to answer questions about their products. The tool sale featured new tools, product displays, and demonstrations.
“Tool vendors gave builders great information on their different products,” says Brad Scarborough, Truitt and White. In addition to the tool booths, both Freud and Bosch had 40-foot vans displaying products for hands-on demonstrations.
“The tool sale really helps our customers,” adds Brad. “It lets them plug a tool in, try it out and get a feel for it before they buy it.”
Dan Stapleton of DSC Construction, a Truitt and White customer for over 25 years, agrees the tool sale is a great way to get information on a product before buying.
“Builders need the right information,” says Dan. “Truitt and White gives me great service. Something you’ll never get at the big boxes,” he says. “I don’t have to think twice about a product when I purchase it from them,” he adds. Dan walked away from the sale with a new Milwaukee set of cordless tools and a new level.
Other popular sellers included Bosch table saws and “tons of drills and other essential tools that builders don’t have or need replaced,” adds Brad. “A lot of builders wait for and look forward to our sale when they need to buy tools,” he adds.
If you missed the tool sale this year, we’ll be back next August with another day of food, fun, and great deals on tools.
